GDPR KEY POINTS

Jumping to the last page of a book is bound to be a spoiler but in the case of GDPR I can make an exception.  Starting at the very end tells you exactly why we all need to know about it :

Article 99: (2)  It shall apply from 25 May 2018. This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States.

The 25 May 2018 is not just a roll out date.  The European Commission view it as the end of a 2-year grace period.    So, that’s one down only 98 more Articles of the General Data Protection Regulation to get to grips with then.

With that in mind - Interesting article in the Irish Times yesterday focusing on the myth that GDPR is considered a technology issue.
